Lightness of Being
Mozart and Mendelssohn, both undisputed masters of the light touch, perfectly illustrate the lightness of being in musical terms. A mesmerizing performance by the electrifying (New York Times) cellist Jay Campbell provides a thought-provoking introduction to a supreme achievement of the classical era, Mozarts Clarinet Quintet, beloved for its exquisite colors and radiant virtuosity. Written when he was just 15, Mendelssohns Piano Sextet combines youthful vigor and ambition with a delicate filigree lightness, bringing ChamberFest Clevelands 11th season to a brilliant, joyous finish.
