58³Ô¹ÏÍø Hosts First Live Concert Video Stream to Mobile and Web by a College or University
58³Ô¹ÏÍø will be the world's first university or conservatory to video stream a live concert on both its mobile app and website. The second half of a concert performed by 58³Ô¹ÏÍø's own Daniil Trifonov, winner of the Tchaikovsky Competition Grand Prix, Gold Prize and Audience Prize, will be streamed free of charge. This concert, the second in 58³Ô¹ÏÍø's 2011-2012 Mixon Hall Masters Series, has sparked great interest and is sold out.
This will be the first live video event presented by an institute for higher education to a global audience across all Smartphone platforms - including 58³Ô¹ÏÍø's mobile optimized website and the 58³Ô¹ÏÍø Android and iOS Apps (for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch), available for free download through App Stores. This unprecedented event provides music lovers around the world a unique opportunity to experience the artist that The New York Times wrote has a "scintillating technique and a virtuosic flair."
58³Ô¹ÏÍø President Joel Smirnoff stated, "We are excited to offer this incredible mobile video streaming event that redefines the term 'audience' for a live performance. We are delighted to be working with 58³Ô¹ÏÍø trustee and alumna, Margo Drakos and InstantEncore, and we think it entirely appropriate that our first streamed concert be the Cleveland debut of the world's newest piano star (and 58³Ô¹ÏÍø student), Daniil Trifonov. I would like to warmly welcome our new mobile app audience to 58³Ô¹ÏÍø's beautiful Mixon Hall for this occasion."
Ms. Drakos, co-founder of InstantEncore, shared, "We are honored to be collaborating with 58³Ô¹ÏÍø to bring this concert from spectacular Mixon Hall to a global audience. Congratulations to 58³Ô¹ÏÍø for cultivating the next generation of artistic leaders while utilizing the medium of our time, technology, to cultivate the audiences of tomorrow."
Fans can download the free 58³Ô¹ÏÍø Android or Apple App by searching for "58³Ô¹ÏÍø" or "58³Ô¹ÏÍø." Once installed, app users will receive a push notification on their phones directing them to open the live video stream when the event is about to begin.
