58Թ Adds Kevin Stein to Board of Trustees
The 58Թ’s Board of Trustees elected Kevin M. Stein, PhD, to a three-year term at its Wednesday, February 3, 2021, meeting. Stein is President, CEO and Director of TransDigm Group Incorporated.

Rothmann, PhD. “I am grateful for his commitment to 58Թ and its vision to be the future of classical music.”

Stein joined TransDigm Group in 2014 as the Chief Operating Officer and later took the additional title of President before being promoted to CEO in May of 2018. TransDigm is a leading global designer, producer and supplier of a wide array of highly engineered proprietary aerospace components used on nearly all commercial and military aircraft in service today. Prior to joining TransDigm, Stein worked for Precision Castparts Corporation, now a division of Berkshire Hathaway, as President of the Castings and Forgings Group and as an Executive Vice President of Precision Castparts Corporation. Previously, he worked for Cooper Industries and Tyco Electronics/Raychem Corporation as a division president.
Stein also serves as a Trustee for Gilmour Academy, a K-12 independent co-ed Catholic school in Gates Mills, Ohio; and as a Trustee at Pitzer College, a private liberal arts college in Claremont, California. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Hobart College and a master’s degree and doctorate in inorganic chemistry from Stanford University.
